Observed on the street (dock): Crafts with character

These tongue-in-cheek boat names caught my eye as I strolled along the docks at the Port Sidney Marina in Sidney, British Columbia:

This last one is my favourite, though!

To be on the water is to be happy, I think. ūüôā

Observed on the street: A neglected dream

I came across this derelict ship in the woods bordering a dead-end street:

Photo of an old boat permanently beached in the bush.

This permanently beached vessel reminds me of how important it is that we set our dreams sail while we still can. ¬†If we wait too long — perhaps hoping for the “right” wind or the “perfect” day or “enough” of this or that — we may one day find that our dreams have, through neglect, reached such a state of decay, become so high and dry, that they are no longer seaworthy, even if the “perfect” conditions did occur.

To quote Mark Twain:

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. ¬†So throw off the bowlines. ¬†Sail away from the safe harbour. ¬†Catch the trade winds in your sail. ¬†Explore. ¬†Dream. ¬†Discover.

Go ahead, blow wind into that sail.  Your dreams are waiting.
